What is the difference between the motors on the brushes?Updated a month ago

Our new toothbrushes have cutting-edge motors with advanced technology that makes them work more efficiently.

Go back to thinking of a car engine and how it powers a vehicle when it's in motion and pauses when it's idle. The "duty cycle" is like a rule: If you say the duty cycle is 20%, the car drives for 20% of the time and pauses for 80%. In one minute, it drives for 12 seconds and rests for 48 seconds.


The 4-cylinder car zips around quickly for those 12 seconds, making rapid moves. On the other hand, the 6-cylinder car goes a bit slower but feels strong and powerful in those 12 seconds.

    

Picture it like the 4-cylinder car doing lots of quick "vibrations" when it's active, while the 6-cylinder car does fewer but stronger "vibrations." Just like you can change how many cylinders a car has, we adjust the speed (vibrations per minute) and rest time (duty cycle) in our toothbrushes to make them do different things — sort of like picking a zippy 4-cylinder or a strong 6-cylinder car!


Some modes are better when they're gentle, like when our Sensitive mode massages your gums. Others are best when they're more robust, like Whitening for busting up stains. It’s all about getting the experience that works for YOU.
